Radiant Heat

Once the temperature drops, our main concern is going to be heating the home! There are many different ways to do this.  One way you may not have heard of is radiant heat.  Radiant Heating typically involves heating your floor (though walls or ceilings can also be used) instead of the air in a room.  The way radiant heating works is that the heat is delivered right to a person through the floor instead of through the air.  This system can be more energy efficient since the heat is usually going straight to a person instead of wasting time and energy in ductwork.

Radiant floor heating is a good option to look into when adding an addition to your home.  Sometimes it is tough and impractical to extend and place more ductwork into the addition and so radiant heat can give you the warmth you want.  It is also nice in bathrooms or in a baby’s room. This heating option may also be able to give you the health benefits that you would like.  Often moving air with particles causes allergies to act up.  Radiant heat reduces the amount of moving air in your home or at least in one part of it, because there is no duct work or forced air system.

If this information sounds interesting to you, you can feel free to look up more information on radiant heating or you can call Flame Furnace to find out more.
