Michigan Residential Aeroseal Duct Sealing
Michigan's Largest Aeroseal Contractor!
Anybody can see a water leak. You certainly don't need one of our expert technicians to tell you what one is, but how about an air leak? They're invisible and generally difficult to find as well as rather costly since there's all sorts of ductwork hidden behind your walls, under your floors or above your ceilings. And as for the repair work itself, the traditional method of using caulk-like mastic is not only more expensive, but it's also less effective than using Aeroseal. Just how good is Aeroseal, though? Other methods of repair, like mastic, break down over the years. Aeroseal doesn't and it comes with a 10 year warranty just to put your mind at ease.
Some folks are inclined to do-it-themselves and while that tends to work better with traditional leaks, air is a whole different monster, especially with ducts that you-and even us-can't easily see or even access. This is where Aeroseal comes in. It takes about an hour for it to pinpoint and then cover your leak. Does it work? How does a 98% success rate sound? We at Flame find it to be an affordable and effective solution to your duct leak problem.
Plus, you'll receive a before & after graph to prove just how much leakage we sealed!
Why should you consider using Aeroseal?
- leaks cost homeowners nearly $25 billion each year. That means that you're paying an average of thirty cents for every dollar of your energy bill.
- Got allergies? Did you know that leaks allow dust, mold and other nasty pollutants to invade your home that can create health issues?
- Leaks pull mold, dust and other pollutants into your home, presenting indoor air quality issues and creating and/or aggravating allergy problems.
- Worse even than that, air leaks can cause backdrafting issues for any gas appliances you may have. Exhaust and radon gas? Same thing.
- Aeroseal can seal leaks up to 5/8" wide.
So if you've experienced any rooms that have become uncomfortably cold or hot, more dust than usual, a musty smell and increased humidity along with an equally increased bill, then it's time to call us! And while it's unlikely the problem will be this severe, Aeroseal can seal a leak up to 5/8" wide.
The History of Aeroseal
The technology was developed by the Indoor Environment Program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, whose IAQ scientists tested it. The research was funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Energy, the Electric Power Research Institute and the California Institute of Energy and Environment.
The University of California was granted initial patents in 1996 and 1999. Aeroseal now holds an exclusive license to the technology and in turn licenses contractors to use it in homes and businesses throughout the nation. Flame is the first Aeroseal Contractor in Michigan.
Our 5 Step Process
- Cover wall and floor registers so air can escape only through leaks
- Inject sealant into the ducts for approximately one hour
- Keep small aerosol particles suspended in the airflow by continuous air movement
- Particles collide with and adhere to edges as the air stream makes a sharp turn to exit through a leak (only 1 - 2 ounces of the sealant material remain in the ducts after sealing)
- Print a computer-generated analysis showing measurements of air duct leakage before and after Aerosealing
